Check Out - Really - Our New Titles!

SO many new titles…..and they’re going out quickly on interlibrary loan. Better hurry in!
Our heartfelt thanks to our good friend Joan Kemp for her recent Facebook Birthday Fundraiser! (Such a great idea and we definitely encourage copycats…).
With the funds Joan raised we were able to purchase much needed new books for both adults and early readers - stop in and browse!

Our Caring Volunteers Give Their Time

The Roxbury Library is pleased to announce that our staff of dedicated volunteers have taken on a new project for themselves!  They are creating ten pillowcases in conjunction with Ryan’s Case for Smiles to Albany Medical Center pediatric patients.  Sewing began on January 3 and will continue until all pillowcases are completed.  Ryan’s Case for Smiles (formerly ConKerr Cancer) was founded in 2007 to bring comfort and support to young patients and their families in hospitals around the globe.  They started with a simple goal:  to create and distribute whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness.  Today, Ryan’s Case for Smiles programs have expanded to include the children’s entire families so they can better navigate and cope with a very difficult experience and avoid long term emotional trauma.

Volunteers involved in this project were Sarah Porter - organizer, Maggie Pebler, Kathy Zummo, Roxanne Lindner, and Chris Durham (not pictured).

Bloom of Margaretville, owners Lori and Katie Rosa, will be distributing the completed pillowcases to Albany Medical Center.

2024 at the Roxbury Library

The Roxbury Library has a staff, volunteers, and a Board who all hold the best interests of the library at the forefront: first and foremost to keep our doors open.
In 2024, our hope is to improve on these efforts in order to continue offering our patrons a varied selection of reading materials and DVDs. Our four new public computers, free WiFi, and wireless printing are for everyone to have the ability to connect. We would love to see our library traffic increase, and we hope that one of your New Year’s resolutions is to read more books.
Beginning January 1, we discontinued overdue fines - but, of course, we’d like our books back when you’re finished with them! Renewing is easy - call us at 607-326-7901 or use your account on the Four County website.  Need help with the Four County site? We can do that.
We are a small association but we are the best place in Roxbury where we can all meet. New in town? Old in town? We have seen our library be the place where friendships are made and connections are discovered.
We are looking forward to 2024 - we are your home to the world of reading, the world-wide web, and our little world here in Roxbury.
