Thank you to these RCS Juniors!

Thank you to Ivory and Skye, two very personable and patient RCS juniors, who spent yesterday morning helping community members navigate their smart phones and Androids. We were happy to host them as they shared their knowledge while fulfilling community service requirements as well.
Our next April event will be a workshop for First Time Home Buyers presented by the Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Saturday, April 22, beginning at 9:00am.  Please call 607-326-7901 to register for this very relevant session.

The Latest News: April Events at the Roxbury Library!

This coming Tuesday Forum, April 4, we’ll be welcoming four Roxbury Central students who will share their knowledge of smart phones and social media.  Our session will begin at 10:00am and end by noon.  Please call 607-326-7901 to register.

The Breast Cancer Survivors group will meet Wednesday, April 12 at 5:00pm.

Quilters meet Tuesdays at 1:00pm.

Mah Jongg every Friday, 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

Saturday, April 22 - First Time Homebuyer’s Workshop with Eileen Knott of Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council.  The program will begin at 9:00am, and we do request you definitely call the library to reserve a spot:  607-326-7901.

Every open day we offer books and DVDs to borrow including interlibrary loans; a Thrift Shoppe featuring used and new items; free WiFi; Notary Public service (please call ahead); local newspapers; Fax/copier, and fresh local eggs!

Our hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8:30am until 3:30pm; Saturdays 10:00 am ’til 2:00pm.

Mah Jongg Starting Friday, March 17!

A Mah Jongg group will begin in the Roxbury Library on March 17 and will meet each Friday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  Everyone is welcome - if you’re a beginning player or an experienced one, join us Friday afternoons for fast-paced fun.

The Roxbury Library will be closing today at noon because of the weather.  We’ll be back to regular hours on Monday, starting at 8:30am.

The Tuesday Forum will be held on March 7, beginning at 10:00am and ending by noon.  Our guest speakers will be Kellie Sullivan of Kaatskill Eldercare and Dawn Shultis of Dan’s Food Pantry.  We invite you to bring donations for the Food Pantry of non-perishable food items and personal products.  Call 607-326-7901 for more information or to RSVP for Tuesday.

Update to Tuesday Forum for March 7th, 2023

Joining our scheduled speaker Kellie Sullivan of Kaatskill Eldercare, Dawn Shultis, manager of Dan’s Food Pantry in Roxbury, will also be here on March 7 to discuss the services as well as the needs of our local food pantry.  Named in honor of founder and Roxbury native Dan Underwood, Dan’s Food Pantry has long been helping local residents in need of food assistance.

Come on in March 7, beginning at 10am and ending by noon, to learn more about two of our very own (and women-led) services here in Roxbury.  Please feel free to bring a donation of non-perishable food items or personal products for the Food Pantry.

The Roxbury Library Association Tuesday Forum Program is BACK!!!

After several years on hiatus, the Roxbury Library is pleased to announce the return of the Tuesday Forum.  The first Tuesday of each month will feature an informational presentation with time for questions and answers.  Our first Tuesday Forum will be on March 7th, featuring Kellie Sullivan, owner of Kaatskill Eldercare in Roxbury, who will describe the services her business offers.  If the need is for yourself or for a loved one, Kellie will be here to answer any questions you may have.  Each session is free and will start at 10:00am and end by noon with coffee, tea, and a light snack offered during.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 4th, when we’ll have members of the Roxbury Central School senor class here to answer all your question about smart phones, Facebook, Instagram, and that completely confusing thing called SnapChat. Keep up with your children and grandchildren!

And looking ahead:  Tuesday, May 2nd, Medicare with Robin.

November-December 2022 RLA Annual Holiday Bazaar

Starting on Saturday, November 5, 2022, the same day as the Jay Gould Church Holiday Bazaar, and ending on Thursday, December 22, 2022, the Roxbury Library Association (RLA) welcomes the public to the RLA Annual Holiday Bazaar shopping festivities at the Roxbury Library. The RLA Annual Holiday Bazaar will offer holiday shoppers the opportunity to purchase quality RLA Thrift Shoppe merchandise, Irma Mae Griffin’s HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF ROXBURY, and 2022 RLA quilt raffle tickets for the queen-sized “Squares of Many Colors” Quilt and for the lap-sized “Victorian Hearts and Flowers” Quilt,” at $1.00 per ticket or at $5.00 for 6 tickets. Shoppers may also take advantage of the RLA Thrift Shoppe’s ongoing fill-a-bag sales ($3.00 for a small bag of merchandise, $5.00 for a large bag of merchandise, and $1.00 for a box or bag full of books from the RLA Thrift Shoppe).

The November-December 2022 RLA Holiday Bazaar will be open to the public during the Roxbury Library’s regular hours of operation: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

The RLA Quilt Raffle Drawing for the 2022 RLA “Squares of Many Colors” Quilt and for the 2022 RLA “Victorian Hearts and Flowers” Quilt, expertly handcrafted by the Roxbury Library Quilters, will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, at 1:30 p.m., at the Roxbury Library.

Located at 53742 State Highway 30, the Roxbury Library is directly opposite the town’s United Methodist Church on Main Street.

The RLA Thrift Shoppe Volunteer Staff and the Roxbury Library Staff welcome donations of new or gently used gift items to the 2022 RLA Annual Holiday Bazaar.
