On Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., the Roxbury Library Association will host an RLA Tuesday Forum program focusing on speaker Olive Van Aken’s June 2008 trip to Russia. Ms. Aken will augment her program with a slide presentation.

Regular RLA Tuesday Forum attendees will provide refreshments following Ms. Van Aken’s presentation.

The Roxbury Library Association welcomes the public to all RLA Tuesday Forum events, gatherings, and activities, which are free of charge.

Association will offer a screening and a group discussion of the
documentary film MARVELOUS MARGARETVILLE, directed by Roxbury resident
Roger Bobley.

the film screening and discussion session.

FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR BARBARA AND DAVID SCUDDER AT THE ROXBURY LIBRARY

On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., the Roxbury Library
Association will host a farewell reception for Barbara and David Scudder,
who will be relocating from Roxbury to a retirement community in Goshen,
Indiana, on November 5th. The Roxbury Library Association Board of
Trustees and the Roxbury Library Staff welcome the public to celebrate
Barbara’s and David’s many years of community service to Roxbury and to
extend best wishes to the Scudders as they begin a new chapter in their
lives.

Roxbury Library Director Dian Seiler and Roxbury Library Clerk Helen
Faraci will provide refreshments for all reception attendees.

OCTOBER 2009 ROXBURY LIBRARY ASSOCIATION TUESDAY FORUM PROGRAM AT THE

The Roxbury Library Association will offer its October 2009 Tuesday Forum
program in recognition of National Cancer Awareness Month. On Tuesday,
October 13, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., Jeanne Darling, Executive Director of
Cornell Cooperative Extension, will offer a presentation on breast cancer
awareness, a program facilitated by Peter Molnar and John Riedl of the
Margaretville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Wellness Committee.

Regular RLA Tuesday Forum attendees will provide refreshments following
Ms. Darling’s presentation.

Special Memorial Day Weekend Sale at the Roxbury Library

The Roxbury Library Association will offer a special RLA Thrift Shoppe
Sale on Memorial Day Weekend. On Saturday, May 23, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to
2:00 p.m., the RLA Thrift Shoppe will offer holiday weekend shoppers the
opportunity to purchase quality, individually priced RLA Thrift Shoppe
merchandise in the reception area of the library and to take advantage of
the RLA Thrift Shoppe’s ongoing bag sales ($2.00 for a small shopping bag;
$4.00 for a large shopping bag) in the RLA Thrift Shoppe proper. Items
available for purchase range from clothing and footwear for all age groups
to household and decorative items to books for adults, adolescents, and
children. In addition to the special RLA Thrift Shoppe sale, the RLA will
offer library patrons and visitors the opportunity to purchase Irma Mae
Griffin’s HISTORY OF THE TOWN of Roxbury ($16.50 for a new softcover copy;
$4.00 for a flood-damaged copy) and raffle tickets for the queen-sized
2009 RLA “Jean Porter Basket Quilt” at $1.00 per ticket or at $5.00 for
six tickets.

January-July 2009 Adult Book Discussion Group at the Roxbury Library

The Roxbury Library Association welcomes the public to attend an adult
book discussion group, held at the Roxbury Library, from January
through July 2009, with most meetings on the last Monday of every
month, unless otherwise indicated. All adult book discussion group
meetings start at 12:00 noon and end at 2:00 p.m.. Meeting dates and
books under discussion are as follows:
