Spring 2017 New York Humanities Roxbury Library Association Reading and Discussion Program

The recipient of a Spring 2017 New York Humanities Reading and Discussion Grant, the Roxbury Library Association takes pleasure in announcing the topic of “Growing and Aging” for the RLA March-April 2017 NYH Reading and Discussion Program. To take place at the Roxbury Library on 6 Thursday evenings, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., the program sessions will occur on March 16th, March 23rd, March 30th, April 6th, April 13th, and April 20th. The scholar-facilitator for the RLA Spring 2017 NYH Reading and Discussion Program is art therapist and Roxbury resident Ellen Stewart.

The schedule of readings for the Spring 2017 NYH R & D Program follows:

  • March 16th-Introductory/Orientation Session: selected readings from A HISTORY OF OLD AGE, Ed. Pat Thane.
  • March 23rd-TINKERS by Paul Harding.
  • March 30th-Selected Readings from A HISTORY OF OLD AGE, Ed. Pat Thane, with individual participants’ presentations on selected readings.
  • April 6th-Selected Readings from LITERATURE AND AGING: AN ANTHOLOGY, Eds. Martin Kohn, et al., with individual participants’ presentations on selected readings.
  • April 13th-Selected Readings from LITERATURE AND AGING: AN ANTHOLOGY, Eds. Martin Kohn, et al., with individual participants’ presentations on selected readings.
  • April 20th-Selected Readings from IN OUR PRIME: THE INVENTION OF MIDDLE AGE by Patricia Cohen, with individual participants’ presentations on selected readings, and concluding remarks.

Program readings are available at the Roxbury Library or through the Four County Library System (4CLS).
